Lamborghini reveals 2019 Urus with 190-mph top speed

The elevated Raging Bull boasts a leading power-to-weight ratio among super-utes, launching to 62 mph in just 3.6 seconds.
Khodrocar - Lamborghini has finally revealed the Urus, billed as a 'Super SUV' that stays true to the Raging Bull's reputation for performance and driving dynamics.

Proportions and stance have already been previewed via lightly camouflaged prototypes. The latest announcement is accompanied by full renderings and photographs, fully revealing the Urus' menacing style that meshes with the low-slung Huracan and Aventador.

A front-mounted 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 -- Lamborghini's first turbo engine -- has been tuned to deliver 650 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 630 pound-feet of torque at just 2,250 rpm. The company frames its turbocharger not as a compliance compromise but rather a rational choice for low-rpm torque in off-road conditions.

The Urus is said to launch from zero to 62 mph in just 3.6 seconds, just a tenth of a second quicker than Porsche's Cayenne Turbo benchmark. Lamborghini also bests the Bentley Bentayga by a narrow margin at the top end, reaching 190 mph to claim the title of fastest SUV on the market.

Power is delivered to all four wheels via a torque-vectoring drivetrain, with a 40/60 rear bias that can be dynamically shifted 70-percent to the front or 87-percent at the rear. Rear-wheel steering has been borrowed from the Aventador S, while carbon-ceramic brakes help bring the 'ute down from 62 mph to a stop in less than 111 feet.

The chassis has been engineered with dynamics and passenger comfort in mind, promising for an enjoyable experience among all five potential occupants. Adaptive air suspension enables the ride height to raise or lower depending on road conditions or driving mode, selectable on a center-console controller known as the Tamburo (drum).

The interior design also balances sportiness and luxury, with a choice between 12- or 18-way adjustable front seats with ventilation and massage. Buyers who prefer a chauffeur can opt for a two-seat rear configuration.

First customers will take delivery in spring 2018 with US pricing starting at an even $200,000.
