Porsche has announced a new performance version of its 911 sports car. The 911 Carrera T, which stands for Touring, and it is the lightest 911 model available today.
Khodrocar - The 911 Carrera T is intended to be the purist's option, with a 7-speed manual transmission, shorter gear ratios, and a locking mechanical differential as standard. Power from its 3.0-liter flat-six remains at 370 horsepower, but torque is bumped up to 338 pound-feet compared to the base 911 Coupe's. The result is a claimed 0-60 time of 4.3 seconds, a tenth quicker than the base model, and a top speed of 182 mph with the manual transmission.

Cabin-wise, rear seats have been eliminated and full bucket fronts are available for the first time on the Carrera model. The gear shift has a shortened throw, and the GT Sport steering wheel now includes a button for driving mode selection.
To save weight, the rear and side windows are made of lightweight glass, opener loops replace conventional door handles, and sound deadening material has been reduced. The grand total is 3,142 pounds. The MSRP price is $102,100, excluding a $1,050 delivery charge.
