Comparison of KMC A5 and KMC X5; Which is better?

Khodrocar - KMC A5 is a new name that Kerman Motor Company has chosen for a product in the Iranian market. This car was previously introduced to the market of our country by Saif Khodro company under the name of SWM G01F. The SWM brand is originally an old Italian motorcycle company that was bought by the Chinese in recent years, and now various products, including the G01F model, are produced under this banner. 

Of course, this Italian brand was originally SVVM, which has now been changed to SWM by the Chinese. Seif Khodro brought this car to the Iranian market in 2019, but unfortunately it could not sell it properly, and now Kerman Motor has added this product to its portfolio.

KMC X5 is basically a facelifted version of Jack S5 and it is sold in China under the name Sehol X6. This car was presented in 2022 and now it has been added to Kerman Motor's portfolio.

Design

As an updated version of the Jack S5, the KMC X5 honestly has a more modern and attractive look than the A5. This car has been updated in the front view, the design of the rear lights and some body details, and especially its face shape is very modern and according to the taste of luxury customers. Of course, the design of the face of the X5 is not very compatible with the old room of the S5, but it can be said that the crossover is relatively beautiful and attractive in its price range.

But KMC A5 or SWM G01F entered the Iranian market in 2019 and at that time it presented a very attractive appearance compared to most competitors. But today, the body design of this car has become relatively old and the only thing that has kept it attractive is the sporty shape of the rear bumper, the exciting design of the front grille and the appropriate style of the front bumper. Anyway, as a crossover with a relatively sporty design, the KMC A5 still has a decent grip, and for people who value the excitement of the design, this car can be more attractive than the X5 due to its more aggressive styling.

Technical comparison

Both Kerman Motor crossovers use turbocharged 4-cylinder engines with a volume of 1.5 liters. However, the nature of these two engines is different and their output power is significantly different from each other. The KMC X5 engine, which is an updated example of the Jack S5 Newface engine, produces a power equal to 172 horsepower and a maximum torque of 280 Nm and transfers it to the front wheels through a 6-speed automatic transmission with two clutches.

On the other hand, the KMC A5 engine produces 137 horsepower and 212 Nm of torque, which reaches the front wheels after passing through a 7-speed gearbox with two clutches. It is clear that the power of the A5 engine has a relatively significant reduction compared to the X5. Especially in terms of torque, this power difference is quite significant and can slow down the initial acceleration of this product.

Comparison of cabin

The interior design of the KMC A5 is not much different from when it came to the Iranian market with the SWM badge. So this design style, although it looks somewhat sporty, is rather outdated and not attractive enough to stand up against the new design of the cabin and dashboard of the KMC X5. The interior of the KMC X5 looks relatively luxurious and modern due to the new design of the dashboard and steering wheel, as well as the beautiful style of the central console and the large multimedia display in a standing form, and it is likely that it can be more welcomed by customers than the interior design of the A5. to face

The material used in the cabin of both cars feels relatively high-quality and does not convey the unpleasant feeling of cheap crossovers to the user. In terms of the amount of space inside the room, especially the rear row seats, the KMC A5 car has better conditions than its opponent; Because its center distance is about 9 cm larger and this makes the leg space in the second row feel a little more spacious than the opponent.
