Jeep Grand Commander revealed for China

The Jeep Grand Commander has been revealed for the Chinese market in a new online video, ahead of an anticipated debut at the Beijing motor show in April.
Khodrocar - In terms of design, the Grand Commander stays true to the Yuntu concept that previewed it at last year’s Shanghai motor show, with slim front and rear lighting elements combined with a chunky and rugged exterior.

Jeep has also kept its new SUV in line with the wider range, looking very much like an enlarged version of the Grand Cherokee and Compass.

At this stage, we haven’t seen any images of the interior, though we know the Grand Commander will feature three rows of seating, and it should get the company’s latest Uconnect infotainment system.

In terms of powertrains, the Grand Commander will be fitted with a turbocharged 2.0-litre petrol engine mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive system – likely the 201kW/400Nm unit that debuted in the facelifted US-market Cherokee.

It’s believed the Grand Commander will be fully detailed at the Beijing motor show in April.
