Khodrocar Reports, the last status of VW in Iran

VW behind Iran’s Market Closed Doors

After all the noise Mammut Company started with importing VW’s vehicles to Iran, everyone expected a sweet and interesting start for this disgraced German car company.
But now doors to Iran car market has closed so now it is time for Germans to await entering this market.
Khodrocar Journalist Reports, almost a month ago Reuters News agency company published a news regarding VW’s authorization for official car export to Iran, a report that actually was not something fresh because the agreement over the matter had been made last autumn.
Following the news, Mammut Company which with considering its long and successful background was expected to handle this very negotiation professionally and hold head high by signing production contract in Iran, published a news regarding the opening of its first official VW’s import vehicles dealership in the country.
"Mammut is authorized to produce vehicle jointly with VW by the Ministry of Industries and cannot be an importer.” Said Mohsen Salehinia, Deputy Minister for Industries Affairs to Khodrocar regarding the news.
Now after all these comments the official online vehicle order registration website has been shut down so that VW vehicles step back for entering Iran car market. Beside no VW car model has been yet added to official list of authorized import vehicles.
Although apparently Mammut company acquired Ministry of Industries approval regarding the import of VW’s vehicles but Iran National Standards Organization has not yet issued the necessary approval for such vehicles which it could be due to a delay in settling the organizations required meetings and not the vehicles standard issues.
VW was supposed to produce cars in Iran and now it has refused to do so, waiting behind closed doors of Iran car market as a result. VW mentioned the disability of the Iranian spare part producers as an excuse of its refusal. Disability of the Iranian spare part producers that not only have no traces of scandals in their business background but also have joined the world wide chain of spare part providers for Renault, a brand that took away the prize from VW regarding vehicles sell figures around the globe.
Now there are talks regarding the arrival of first shipment of the VW's vehicles to Iran yet it is not clear that how can they be imported to Iran and based on what authorization from the Ministry of Industry?
