Another FCA leak hints at 350-hp turbo four for Alfa Giulia

An earlier leak pointed to a 368-horsepower 2.0-liter turbo four in the new Jeep Wrangler.
Khodrocar - A high-output 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine has appeared in yet another Fiat Chrysler Automobiles leak.

A recent Twitter post from Bozi Tatarevic includes a picture of the Mopar Tech Authority OEM service site interface with a 350-horsepower engine option for the 2.0-liter Alfa Romeo Giulia.

Previous reports have focused on a purported document from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration showing a 2.0-liter turbo four producing 368 horsepower in the next-generation Jeep Wrangler.

Both leaks hint at a level of power not far below Mercedes-AMG's 2.0-liter powerplant that delivers 381 horsepower in the CLA 45 and GLA 45. The former launches to 62 mph in an impressive 4.2 seconds.

In a narrowly worded statement, Alfa Romeo USA communications manager Berj Alexanian told Car and Driver the company has "no plans for any other engines for Giulia in North America for 2018 model year," leaving open the possibility of an upgraded option for the 2019 model year.

A high-output four-cylinder engine would nicely bridge the gap between the current 2.0-liter engine, which produces 280 horsepower, and the Quadrifoglio's 505-horsepower 2.9-liter turbo V6.
