Porsche launches car subscription service in the US
Smartphone app-based Porsche Passport subscription service allows drivers access to a 22-model range.
The smartphone app-based scheme, called Porsche Passport, is initially being launched in Atlanta, Georgia.
Monthly subscription costs $2000 (£1516) for the entry-level Launch package, which provides access to eight models, including the 718 Boxster, 718 Cayman, Cayenne and Macan S.
By comparison, 10,000 mile per year PCP on a Porsche 718 Boxster is £481, with a deposit of £10,800 and final purchase payment of £22,901.
The $3000 (£2274) Accelerate package increases the availability to 22 models, including the 911 Carrera S, Cayenne S E-Hybrid, Macan GTS and Panamera 4S.
Included in the price are road tax and registration, insurance and maintenance. A $500 (£379) joining fee is also charged.
The cars can be delivered or picked up by the subscriber, with same-day pick-ups or future arrangements available through the app.
There’s no mileage limit, although membership does depend on background and credit checks. The scheme begins in November.
