5 era-defining 90’s sportsbikes
The 90’s were a fantastic time for sportsbikes and was arguably the hayday of the modern-era of motorcycling in Britain when World Superbike races would pull 100k capacity crowds to watch Carl Fogarty as he dominated proceedings.
While it’s all well and good remembering yesteryear for the antics, it also gave birth to some absolutely fantastic machinery too, of which many models are now either well on the way to appreciating classics or just on the cusp of becoming so.
Ducati 916 (£5750)"One owner. It comes with braided hoses and a hugger but otherwise is completely standard. New belts fitted 300 miles ago and has had a new battery and tyres fitted. Comes with Two Bros exhaust plus chip and also has an alarm. The paint is slightly rippled around filler plus it has a sticky fuel gauge, have replacement fuel float but haven’t had time to fix.”
Kawasaki ZX-7R (£1995)"Here for sale is a Kawasaki ZX-7R 750cc P3 model. This bike is in great original condition for its year and has only covered 22,313 miles. It’s totally original with the addition of a colour coded rear hugger, braided brake lines and a Venom oval silencer. If you're after an appreciating classic sports bike that won't break the bank this is for you, and it’s finished in the best colour scheme too. It has mot until Oct 2017, and comes with a 3-month warranty.”
Yamaha R1 (£5995)"An original R1 model that was introduced in '98. Looks straight and clean and has had some restoration paintwork done which looks superb. It starts and runs great and comes with fresh tyres, a Yoshimura silencer and dark screen. Fully serviced. Yamaha launched the YZF-R1 after redesigning the Genesis engine to create a more compact engine. This was revolutionary, called a 'stacked gearbox', it set a precedent for other manufacturers to follow. The bike will be serviced and come with 12 month's MOT. This machine has been imported from the Continent and will be UK registered on an age-related number plate upon sale. It comes with 40,442kms on the clocks.”
Suzuki GSX-R750 (£2494)"Just in, this locally owned SRAD is presented in superb condition for its year! It comes with just 11,776 miles recorded and is fitted with an SP Engineering open can and has some service history. Lots of bike for not much dosh!”
Honda CBR900RR Fireblade £3495"For sale here we present a 1999 Honda CBR900RR 918cc Fireblade. The bike has covered 23,679 miles. Several previous mot certificates present as well as some previous workshop invoices. The bike runs great and will come with a 12 month MOT included.”
