Khodrocar - The Chery Tansuo 06 C-DM will launch at the Beijing Auto Show next week. Tansuo (探索) means Discovery or Explore in English and the car is the production version of the TJ-1 C-DM shown at last year’s Shanghai Auto Show. A PHEV it has 120 km all-electric range under the CLTC cycle and reportedly a combined range of 1300 km under WLTC, fuel consumption is 4.9 l/100 km.
The car is based on the ICE version of the Tansuo and unlike previous spy shots the car now has a waterfall grille. Interestingly the daytime running lights have a checkered pattern like a racing flag – the brake light cluster at the back echoes this. From the side the Chery Tansuo 06 C-DM has hidden door handles and a floating roof design.
Inside the dashboard of the Chery Tansuo 06 C-DM has a 13.2-inch infotainment screen which comes with Chery’s colorful AI assistant system. For the driver there is both a smaller LCD instrument screen and a wide HUD. Powering the cockpit is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip. The infotainment screen allows functions such as karaoke, playing games and watching videos. Front seats have heating and ventilation with the driver’s seat also gaining a massage function along with position memory.
Powering the Chery Tansuo 06 C-DM is the Kunpeng Super Hybrid C-DM system consisting of an Acteco 1.5TGDI high-efficiency hybrid engine, continuously variable super hybrid DHT, along with a hybrid intelligent electric management system. Thermal efficiency of the engine is 44.5% and it uses the Miller cycle along with having fourth generation intelligent thermal management. The engine provides 115 kW power and 220 Nm torque. Details about the electric components of the PHEV powertrain are still not known. However, the system has five driving modes consisting of all-electric, range extension, direct engine drive, parallel connection and energy recovery.
The car was previously expected to launch much sooner, the ICE version has been available since August last year priced 116,900 – 139,900 yuan (16,150 – 19,300 USD). Deliveries are likely to be not far behind the Beijing Auto Show launch. Prices for the PHEV will carry a premium to the ICE prices.
