2018 Mazda BT-50 teased, here in May
Mazda Australia has teased the revised 2018 BT-50 ute in a single image this week, ahead of a market launch in May.
Khodrocar - We don’t get a whole lot of clues as to what to expect visually, though the company says this will be the BT-50’s "second and most comprehensive update since its launch in 2011”.
Expect "significant” front-end design changes, that will eschew the current model’s curving lines to "strengthen the ute’s impressive road presence”.
While there’s no images to show the changes, this is what Mazda says in its press release: "Further bolstering its tougher outlook, the grille has adopted strong horizontal lines to straighten out the front of the car, giving the ute a wider and more solid bearing.
Designed and engineered locally, the new look Mazda BT-50 has been made specifically for Australia and is exclusive to the Australian market. Mazda Australia partnered with EGR group, who have been instrumental in bringing Mazda’s vision to life.”
According to the Japanese manufacturer, the new BT-50 has been made specifically for Australia and is exclusive to our market. It’s unclear whether the revised ute range will get any mechanical or powertrain upgrades, though.
In saying that, the company confirms equipment upgrades are also part of the refresh, though exact details will be confirmed closer to launch.
