New Jaguar I-Pace 2018 Revealed

The all-new Jaguar I-Pace 2018 SUV has been officially revealed. Here is everything you need to know about the car’s price, range specs, power, performance, design and interior.
Khodrocar - The British car manufacturer wants to place Jaguar at the front of the electric vehicle revolution with the I-Pace.

It has a bold, aerodynamic design that blends the sporty dynamism of an XJ with some of the SUV credentials of the E-Pace and F-Pace.

Jaguar has previously revealed the car’s design and it remains largely unchanged from the original concept that was revealed in 2016.

It has a short, low bonnet, aero-enhanced roof design and curved rear screen allowing it to achieve a drag co-efficient to just 0.29Cd.

Due to the battery pack being fitted to the floor there is more cabin space for passengers.

The carmaker says that interior space is similar to that of a large SUV because of the location of the battery pack.

It measures 4,682mm in length, 2,139mm in width, 1,565mm in height and has a wheelbase that measures 2,990mm.

Due to the heavy battery pack the car tips the scales at 2,133kg.

Inside the cabin legroom is 890mm per passenger and due to there being no transmission tunnel, there’s a 10.5-litre central storage compartment in the centre.

The car’s luggage compartment is a generous 656-litres at the rear and there is an additional 27-litres in the ‘frunk.’

The interior comes equipped with the Touch Pro Duo infotainment system which utilises a combination of touchscreens, capacitive sensors and tactile physical controls.

It also comes with a new EV navigation system which assesses the topography of the route to destination and insights from previous journeys, including driving style, to calculate personalised range and charging status with exceptional accuracy for maximum driver confidence.

Amazon Alexa Skill has also been integrated which means owners will be able to ask an Alexa-enabled device for information held in the Jaguar InControl Remote app.

Over the air software updates have been enabled to help improve the car over time and keep it up to date and a 4G wireless hotspot which can be connected to by up to eight devices has been added.

The I-PACE will be available in S, SE and HSE derivatives alongside a First Edition, all inspired by the design of the original concept.

As standard the car comes with a 90kWH battery pack which produces a total system output of 400PS and 696 NM.

It is powered by two electric motors which produce 200PS and 348Nm each and are mounted to both the front and rear axles, enabling four-wheel drive.

Due to the instant torque of an electric powertrain the car will be able to sprint from 0-60mph in just 4.5 seconds and on to a top speed of 124 mph.

The car will be able to travel up to 298 miles of range on a single charge.

Owners will be able to achieve a 0-80 percent battery charge in 85-minutes using DC charging (50kW).

The Jaguar I-PACE will be fully compatible with DC Rapid Chargers (100kW) as the technology is rolled out across the UK, which will enable a 0-80 percent charge in just 45 minutes.

Home charging with an AC wall box (7kW) will achieve the same state of charge in just over ten hours – ideal for overnight charging.

"Where other companies talk about the future, we build it,” said Dr Ralf Speth, CEO Jaguar Land Rover.

"We have torn up the rule book to create the newest member of the PACE family, the all-electric Jaguar I-PACE.

"With zero tailpipe emissions, no CO2 and no particulates, it moves us dramatically closer to our vision of a clean, safe and sustainable future.”

Ian Hoban, Vehicle Line Director, Jaguar I-PACE added: "The Jaguar I-PACE is the complete package.

"Breathtaking design and innovative engineering combine to deliver thrilling EV performance, SUV practicality and zero emissions.”

The new car is available to order now and costs from £63,495 on-the-road.

It will look to take on the Model when it got on sale. It boasts more range than the Model X 75D and is quicker but less range than the Model X 100D but a faster 0-60mph time.

It is also cheaper than both versions of the car.

The car is not as quick from 0-60mph as the P100D but costs half the price.
