2018 HSV Colorado SportsCat pricing and specs

New ute range to kick off at $60,790
Khodrocar - Pricing and specifications for the new HSV Colorado SportsCat range have been released this week, with the modified ute priced from $60,790 before on-road costs.

Based on the Holden Colorado ute, the HSV SportsCat features a range of cosmetic and chassis upgrades, though there aren’t any boosts to the power and torque figures of the 147kW/500Nm 2.8-litre four-cylinder ‘Duramax’ turbo-diesel.

Key features standard across the range include a limited-slip differential, matte-black 18-inch forged alloy wheels with Cooper Zeon LTZ all-terrain tyres, HSV sports suspension, a 45mm-higher ride, an engine sump guard, LED fog-lights, tubular side steps, an alloy sports bar and a unique front fascia treatment.

Inside, there’s ‘SV’ sports seats trimmed in Jasmine leather and Windsor suede, red stitching for the leather-wrapped steering wheel, SportsCat floor mats, and a perforated leather/suede dashboard trim.

The higher-spec SportsCat+ (from $66,790) adds a rear decoupling anti-roll bar, a machined finish for the 18-inch alloy wheels, bonnet bulge, and front AP Racing four-piston brake calipers with 362mm discs.

Options include a six-speed automatic transmission ($2200), prestige paint ($550), tub liner ($300), roof racks ($647) and an eye-bolt ($75).

The SportsCat+ is exclusively offered with a sail pane ($1300) and SupaShock suspension ($3600) – the latter featuring larger dampers for "superior performance and road grip without compromising ride quality or body control”.

Production of the HSV Colorado SportsCat has already commenced, with the company pitching its new rival as "the most advanced sports 4×4 on the market” – we wonder what the Ford Ranger Raptor and Volkswagen Amarok V6 have to say about that…

HSV’s announcement comes after preliminary pricing was leaked on a dealer’s Facebook page, which indicated the new ute would start at a slightly higher $65,000.
