Jeep Cherokee (2018): facelifted SUV heading for Detroit show

Jeep has announced that an updated Cherokee SUV is inbound. The 2019 model year Jeep Cherokee will make its official debut at the 2018 Detroit motor show in January.
Khodrocar - Other than a few pictures, there aren’t a whole lot of details to run on. Jeep says that the updated SUV ‘boasts a new, authentic and premium design, along with fuel-efficient powertrain options.’

On the design front, those gifted with functioning eyes won’t recoil in horror quite as much when looking at the new version. The squinty, four-eyed face of the old car has been swapped out for a much cleaner front end with sharp LED DRLs and Jeep’s classic seven-slat grille. The rear end also has some neat LED running lights but could almost be mistaken for a Vauxhall Crossland X.

Tech specs aren’t known yet, but we expect the current European range of 2.0-litre and 2.2-litre diesels to get gains in fuel economy and produce less emissions.

Changes to the trim levels shouldn’t really change much, either; Limited, Longitude and Overland specs used elsewhere in the Jeep range should stay the same. Plus, Jeep’s US arm also features a picture of a Cherokee Trailhawk, which may or may not come to the UK armed with a chunkier body kit and a V6 petrol.

We’ll have more details (and better pictures) when the car is revealed at the 2018 Detroit motor show on 16 January. Stay tuned.
