Lexus LF-1 Limitless crossover teased again ahead of Detroit 2018 reveal
Lexus has teased its new flagship crossover with what appears to be a two-door layout and styling cues from the Toyota C-HR.
Khodrocar - Lexus has released a second teaser shot of the LF-1 Limitless concept - a new luxury SUV show car that will be revealed at the Detroit Motor Show next month. This second image hints at the front end of the new concept car, showcasing its angular headlight signature.
Like most Lexus’ concepts, it’s been designated with the LF badge that has only been applied once to a road car on the legendary LFA supercar. Little has been officially released regarding the new concept other than that the CALTY design studio in Southern California created the LF-1 Limitless’ swooping coupe/SUV design.
It's anticipated that the LF-1 Limitless concept will make production. It's likely to translate into the Japanese marque’s flagship crossover, taking over from the current range-topper, the RX.
An earlier teaser hints at the rear of the car and taken at a high, offset angle. It looks like it could be a two-door crossover, similar in vein to the Toyota C-HR. There’s no line segmenting the side windows, hinting at a two-door coupe-SUV design.
Other clues come in the form of the crossover’s coupe styling around the wheel arches, while the rear spoiler above the window has an interesting gap in the middle so that it looks like two mini spoilers. The rear taillight is big and extends across the rear tailgate to the wheel arches on either flank.
When brightening the image, two information screens can bee seen inside the cabin. The one on the left is a digital instrument cluster with a navigation screen being displayed, while on the right a vehicle information display can be seen through the panoramic sunroof above.
Coincidentally, the announcement of the LF-1 Limitless was made only a short time after it became known that Land Rover is planning a two-door ‘super-luxury’ Range Rover coupe SUV so we can possibly expect this Lexus to face-off against that car sometime in the next few years.
More information regarding the LF-1 Limitless will be released closer to the Detroit Motor Show, which takes place between 13-28 January 2018.
