740-HP Nissan GT-R Is Anything But Stock

You can have it in five stages of power.
Khodrocar - The Nissan GT-R is now 10 years old and the Japanese manufacturer is slowly running out of ideas how to make it better. It’s still really fast and more thrilling than a big soccer game, but if you need even more power that the stock numbers, you have to call a tuning company. Thankfully, there are a lot of specialists willing to work on your Godzilla, like Wheelsandmore from Baesweiler in Germany, which has just presented the CrankZilla project.

Aiming to "provide more ‘Wows’ and ‘Ahhs’ by riding out through the climes,” the company’s tuning work on the GT-R is divided into five power levels. Stage one includes only software upgrades and an air filter kit to boost the power to 605 horsepower (451 kilowatts) from 570 hp (425 kW) on the stock car. Stage two adds 25 more hp thanks to sports catalysts and, when combined with a modified exhaust system and new catalyst pipes, the power reaches 650 hp (485 kW) in stage three.

Stage four is where it gets really serious with replaced turbochargers and a new fuel pump, resulting in a peak power of approximately 700 hp (522 kW). Level five, or the true CrankZilla, adds more software upgrades and catalyst replacement pipes for a final output of 740 hp (552 kW).

The German specialists explain they are well aware of the potential the V6 engine of the GT-R has with possible levels of more than 1,000 hp (746 kW), but they wanted to create a car that’s safe to use on track and not requiring repairs after every single
track day.

Matching the impressive power figures with an attractive color are the three-piece, 21-inch F.I.W.E. wheels wrapped in 255/35 and 295/30 Continental tires. Wheelsandmore has adapted the new alloys for the brake system of the GT-R and have also added height-adjustable lowering springs from KW, which reduce the center of gravity of the sports car by about 30mm.
