BYD Qin L fully exposed in the wild

The interior has also been exposed and is a continuation of the trends of the latest BYD interiors.
Khodrocar - The new BYD Qin L has been exposed in China without camouflage and is an entry level PHEV medium-sized sedan positioned between the Qin Plus and Han. Size wise it measure in at 4830, 1900 and 1495 mm (l/w/h) and sits on a 2790 mm wheelbase.

Power comes from BYD’s latest fifth generation DM-I hybrid system based around a 1.5 liter engine. DM stands for dual mode- BYD speak for a PHEV. The Qin L comes with a choice of 10.08 kWh and 15.87 kWh battery packs good for 60 and 90 km respectively of CLTC range. Fuel consumption for the car is 3.8 liters and 3.98 liters per 100 km for the respective versions. The engine generates 74 kW power, while the electric motor generates up to 160 kW.

Design of the BYD Qin L is very much in tune with current BYD models. It gains dragon eye headlights and has a large grille at the front. On the side it sticks with old-school door handles and has a fairly generic sedan look about it. Similarly the rear is quite simple. There are through-type taillights incorporating Chinese knot elements. While the front of the car gets a Qin logo on the back the car says BYD in Latin script along with smaller Qin L and DM-i badges.

The interior has also been exposed and is a continuation of the trends of the latest BYD interiors. There’s both a digital instrument screen and a center mounted control screen along with control buttons on the steering wheel. Around the drive selector on the center console there are a number of physical buttons. With the relatively long wheelbase there should be reasonable room in the back for passengers. The Qin L rides on a new hybrid chassis codenamed P5.

With the completely undisguised shots and MIIT listing we should expect an imminent launch of the Qin L and it may well have its public debut at next month’s Beijing Auto Show.
