The approval of the national license plates of cars in free zones is inflationary/ lack of cars is the current problem of free zones

The resolution of the Council of Ministers regarding the national number plate of vehicles allowed to travel in free zones was announced by the first vice president yesterday, and import activists believe that this resolution will not only have positive effects on the market, but also inflation of car prices in free zones.
Khodrocar -  in the text of this resolution, it is emphasized that the price of the car is determined through the system related to the tax affairs organization to calculate the duties and customs duties. Also, according to this resolution, the obligation to supply imported cars in the commodity exchange was removed.

Experts believe that this removal is in line with the general permission to import cars by all legal (or natural) persons, because persons who import cars for personal use have no reason to offer them in the stock market or similar place. But at the same time, the question arises as to what effect this decree will have on the import market and whether there will be a demand for number plates according to the pricing method.

Mehdi Dadfar, the secretary of the Automobile Importers Association, in an interview with Khodrocar reporter about the effect of this decree on imported cars, says: Undoubtedly, this decree not only has no effect on the market of imported cars, but also has no effect on the trend of this category of cars and leads to Car prices will increase in free zones.

He adds: the heads of the free zones in the previous government as well as in the current government wrote letters and requests to import cars to the free zones due to the lack of cars, public transportation and the depreciation of cars in the free zones, and according to the current restrictions Importing cars or not doing it, overflowing cars from free zones to cities can not only reduce the inflammation of the market, but also causes the price of cars to increase in these areas.

Dadfar clarifies: since the car is cheaper in the free zones compared to the mainland, with this decree, this cheapness is ruled out because all these cars will have numbering capability from now on.

The secretary of the Car Importers Association states that the current number of cars in free zones does not include a high number: Currently, there are no special cars in free zones whose numbering can affect the market. This is while the number of cars in the free zones is known and their scrapping age is also known, so in general, with these conditions, no positive effects of this decision can be seen unless the import of all types of cars to the free zones is freed and there is a limit in this. It can be said that effective work is being done and we will not have a price increase in these areas, which may ultimately be effective in the mainland.

He continues by referring to the restriction on the numbering of some cars: In this resolution, it is emphasized that the numbering will be done in compliance with the rules, which will include the ban on the import of American cars and cars over 2500 cc, while even if These restrictions did not exist, there is no car for import and numbering, while the climate of the free areas should also be taken into account. These areas are in humid and salty areas, and cars do not last long in these areas.

Dadfar says: If the decree was issued to liberalize the import of any car into the free zones and its exit was regulated as the entry of the car into the country, it would be possible to use the free zones as a market regulation solution, but in a situation where the free zones themselves They are facing a shortage of cars. This resolution will only lead to the worsening of the situation.
