Khodrocar – Whispers say the income of the government in the next year’s budget bill has considered zero and it means vehicle importation would be ban for the next year.
However the section of tax and rights of vehicle importation has not removed from the bill and it maybe a chance to see some changes in the budget before approval. This is happening while right now there are lots of companies facing problems due to the vehicle importation ban and they have challenges to fulfill promises, by continuing this ban problems will be doubled.
Meanwhile the commission of industry of the parliament was reviewing the plan of organizing auto market and they mentioned that importation ban would be canceled. Dariush Esmaeli, once said that there is chance to remove the vehicle importation ban and change tariffs. In the plan of organizing auto market there nothing called importation ban.
Esmaeli added that vehicle importation ban is hurting the market and local market has become exclusive and producers are trying to sell their products plus foreign vehicles are getting expensive and put pressure on people.
Abdollah Raazian another member of this commission said that due to the vehicle importation ban and low local production rate the demand is high and that made a black market. While the commission of industry is against vehicle importation but the prediction of budget bill shows about continuing the ban.
"Incomes of the government is limited and it’s a hard decision to ban vehicle importation but they are trying to keep the value of national currency. Without importation the market would be exclusive and not competitive and that would make problems.” Mohammad Mansouri, member of industry commission told khodrocar reporter.
"In order to prevent the shortage of foreign vehicles in market the government can permit the old cars in free zones to be sold in cities. The complete elimination of automobile imports is not appropriate and the government can prevent problems by carefully monitoring imports, but will eliminate the import of problems.” He said.
