Vain Decisions for Iran Taxi Fleet/ Achieving The Ideals?

Khodrocar – During the last month, lots of decisions made for Iran’s Taxi Fleet. One of them is the 12.5 percent increase of taxi fares in Tehran in the May.

CEO of Iran’s Taxi Fleet announced that this organization printed about 80 thousand new stickers which contain new rates and its being given to taxi drivers. These are the new official taxi rates in Tehran.

In addition, this organization announced that it wants to organize the taxi stations in Tehran. This organization told local municipalities to modify the origin and the destination of taxi stations according to local and regional conditions.

Meanwhile, a brand new vehicle entered the country’s transportation system as a taxi: Brilliance H230. 2 thousand of these vehicles are being delivered to their owners. Many experts showed some reactions about it.

Brilliance H230 is the first Chinese taxi among Peugeot 405 and Samand in Iran’s taxi fleet with many fans and critics. This is while the CEO of Iran’s Taxi Fleet and CEO of Saipa Group supported this car named it as an ideal car for taxi fleet.

Saipa’s CEO says that is product is a Euro 5 car which has all required standards such as environmental standards.

In this regard, Amir Jafarpour, Former CEO of Public Transportation and Urban Traffic of Municipality, tells Khodrocar: "A car with a low fuel consumption and low costs is ideal for our taxi fleet. The Commission of Traffic of Cities analyses the car qualities and chooses the best car. According to their research, Brilliance H230 is an ideal car.”

He adds: "Tiba 2 was the first choice but finally they decided to choose Brilliance H230 as a new vehicle for taxi fleet.”

Khodrocar – Now we should wait and see that whether the recent decisions of Taxi Organization of Iran provides an ideal condition for transportation system or it will fail again, as the former decisions did.
