Kerman Motor’s Eagle Leads the Way in Domestic Production

Kerman Motor has long been committed to increasing the localization of its vehicles, and Eagle, as the company’s first national product, has outpaced its competitors in this regard.

Currently, Kerman Motor is the only private automaker in Iran that has established its own research center to develop nationally branded vehicles, significantly boosting the localization of its products. While Eagle is a new addition to Kerman Motor’s lineup, it has entered mass production with a higher localization rate than similar models from other automakers.

In contrast, major manufacturers like Iran Khodro and SAIPA have introduced their latest models with less than 70% localization, relying heavily on imported components from foreign suppliers.

Eagle: A High-Localization Sedan

The Eagle, developed based on the JAC J4, is produced with extensive involvement from domestic suppliers. Currently, around 900 components of the Eagle are manufactured locally, achieving an 87% localization rate, with its IPI (Industrial Production Index) exceeding 80%. Key parts such as exterior and interior trims, engine, transmission, suspension, wheels, body panels, and electrical systems are all sourced from domestic manufacturers.

Beyond Localization: Upgrades & Enhancements

Beyond achieving higher localization than the JAC J4, Kerman Motor has also introduced upgrades to improve the vehicle’s appeal. The Eagle features a refreshed design, LED lighting technology, a new interior trim, a digital instrument cluster, and other modern enhancements.

Kerman Motor’s Future Plans

Kerman Motor is set to expand its national vehicle lineup, with plans to introduce a locally developed hatchback next year. This upcoming model will feature a new design language and advanced features, further solidifying Kerman Motor’s position as a leader in localized vehicle production in Iran.
