Punishment of Iran’s market because of irrational prices
Recently the official dealers have possessed the imported car market and introduced new products and some of these products have irrational prices but according to some experts, the market will correct the prices due to technical specifications and production quality and there is no need for the interference of governmental agencies.
According to Khodrocar journalist, inistry of Industry, Mine and Trade interfered in this growing trend of official agencies in recent months and prevented the car imports by Gray Markets and that is why some official agencies started the irrational pricing for their products. Some of this products are more expensive than what it should be, depending on technical specifications, car class and appearances. It is expected that this prices will be to the detriment of consumers and official agencies.
Now there is a question if the official agencies should reconsider the pricing of their products or the governmental agencies should interfere.
In this regard, Amirhassan Kakaei, automotive market expert, emphasized in an interview with "Khodrocar” journalist: In imported car markets, National Competition Council should not supervise the pricing of the products.
He adds: With these kind of prices, Iran’s market is going to be a competitive market. That means if a car priced more than the original value, the market mechanism will correct it and there is no need for the governmental agencies to correct the prices.
He emphasizes: The price of the cars should be set in a clear and accurate manner so that the government can properly fulfill its duties by getting tax. Interference of the government in this market is dangerous.
He explains: According to the technical specifications and car quality, the market can price the cars.
Kakaei said: The consumer should be informed about the technical specification and quality of the car, so that he can choose the right car for himself according to this information. This is not just about buying a car, but the maintenance and side costs in long term.
