The Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is back, and with 755 mind-blowing horsepower we suspect it will earn a place among the elite supercars of the world. Why, then, are we feeling just a bit let down? Somehow the significance of this car – never mind its performance – has become somewhat lost in the halls of automotive history. This is especially true for gearheads under the age of 30, who associate the ZR1 moniker with the supercharged model from 2009, and to a degree, those over age 60 who remember the original ZR1 from 1970. In between came this car, the 1990-1995 ZR-1 (with a hyphen), and anyone who knows Corvette history will instantly tell you what makes this car so special.
