Major global automakers are moving toward developing and producing electric vehicles but Iran does not show any inclination for producing these vehicles.
Exactly when the imports started breathing and the foreign automakers were up to start investing in Iran, the sudden decision of government ruined everything.
Renault’s regional manager in Iran stated: “New round of cooperation is born and career opportunities is going to be 10 times more than now. The investment volume will reach 800 million euros.”
Last year, managers of both major auto makers of the country told that they are going to sell their subsidiaries but they did not do anything special to sell them. According to some auto industry experts, sale of subsidiary companies and their participation with foreign investors, is the only way Iranian automakers can survive.
