Kerman Motor CEO announced the start of trial production of the Shadow (Eagle hatchback) car this winter and said: Eagle and Shadow cars will soon be designed on the PS1 platform and two car models will be developed on the KP1 platform. Including this platform, eight new cars will be launched by Kerman Motor by 2028.
Saman Firouzi stated at the first Kerman Motor Supply Chain Parts Manufacturers Conference held today at the International Conference Center of the Iranian Broadcasting Corporation: During the same period of time, with a new alliance with supply chain partners, the production volume will increase to 300,000 units in 2028.
Referring to the company's history over the past 30 years, he said: Kerman Motor has been known as an assembly company since 1992, but due to the issues raised, there is no positive view of assembly in society. Due to the experiences we had in assembly operations over the past few years and this issue was threatened by political changes and developments, we abandoned this policy and moved towards design and manufacturing.
Emphasizing that he intends to make a pact with manufacturers and prove that the automobile industry can meet the expectations of public opinion by 1407, Firouzi stated: Today, I request that if the presented plans are acceptable, we make a pact together to change public opinion towards the Iranian automobile industry. We are making this pact in a situation where we have sanctions and regional conflicts are increasing.
Pointing out that production in 1402 reached 72,000 units, Firouzi stated: The plan for the new year was to produce 120,000 units, which reached 90,000 units. However, Kerman Motor has the capacity to produce 300,000 vehicles, and there is no need for new investment to achieve this volume.
Stating that Kerman Motor will produce 300,000 vehicles in 1407, he continued: In 1407, we will produce 12 new models, 70 percent of which will be domestic supply chain.
Firoozi, referring to the target of 80% share of local products in 1407 production, added: “The share of hybrid vehicles will reach 30% and electric vehicles will reach 10%. In addition, $300 million will be invested in research and development over the next four years.”
Firoozi, stating that we need a resilient supply chain and we must have a new definition of how we interact economically, added: “Our main strategy is electrification and we must achieve a nationwide alliance with suppliers, because we need agility, resilience, productivity and knowledge creation.”
Firoozi, referring to the importance of optimal investment, competitive prices and reducing the time to market for products, noted: “The era of the component manufacturer being separate from the automaker is over and we are looking to introduce new products with minimal waste. Of course, I am not talking about cheap cars because our goal is to produce cars at competitive prices.”
The CEO of Kerman Motor, emphasizing the reduction of the share of CKD vehicles and the increase of the share of domestic production, stated: Our share in the Seventh Development Plan in the GDP will reach 1.32 percent, and Kerman Motor's employment will also increase from 11,000 to 20,000.
Stating that we cannot achieve these goals without investment and financial resources, Firouzi said: We will establish Kerman Motor University in Alborz Province in the coming months.
He announced the installation and commissioning of the first TGDI engine line and said: The CVT gearbox production line is in operation and we are also producing CVT gearboxes for other companies.
The CEO of Kerman Motor also concluded by saying: The construction of the DCT gearbox production line will be completed in the coming months and will enter the country.
