Tesla-Honda 'Frankenstein' monster EV pulls off absurd 0-60 mph sprint in 2.7 seconds

Fans of Tesla’s high-performance electric powertrain are sure to get a kick out of this modified car.
Khodrocar - Introducing, the Teslonda, a Frankenstein-esque experiment from Youtuber Jimmy Built. Fitted with a Tesla motor and Chevy Volt lithium-ion battery pack, this bad boy pulls off an absurd 0-60 mph time of 2.7 seconds. However, as an "EV,” the 1981 Honda Accord only makes about as much noise as a high-end R/C car.

The Teslonda is also equipped with a wheelie bar and tube axle up front, as well as an actual Tesla rear axle. Jacked up with two Mickey Thompson drag tires at the back, this freak of an automobile is not your everyday Honda.

As intimidating as its velocity specs are though, Jimmy is not satisfied. In the video’s description, this mad scientist points out that this run was recorded in 38-degree weather which isn’t good for the battery, tires or pavement. With proper conditions and preparations he predicts his creation is capable of an astounding 2.5-second sprint time.

While the Teslonda may not look like your typical dragster, we can imagine that this monster could make some noise out on the strip – even if you can’t hear it coming.
