What Used Luxury Cars Gain a Better Second Hand Market?

Khodrocar journalist reports, Experts believe that the exterior design and the segment of the vehicle have great effect on their second hand market of these specific cars.

Based on what Khodrocar journalist reports: since the beginning of Iran’s 11th government and selection of Mohammadreza Nematzade as the minister of Industry, Mine and Trades, some basic definitions has changed in the field of trades. After some criticisms toward car import, the government legislated a law that said vehicles over 2.5L of engine displacement are considered as luxury cars and are banned from importing to country.

Lots of criticisms popped up afterward by various experts saying that the engine displacement has nothing to do with whether the vehicle is from a luxury segment or not. The law still stands but the worldwide automotive industry is going toward designing and producing more and more powerful engines yet having lower displacements laying on the latest science and technology discoveries.

There are various examples of the vehicles using Hi-Tech low engine displacement yet all below 2.5L of engine displacement but so powerful and lux from any point of view. The Alfa Romeo 4C and the BMW i8 are set as the best examples of the fact.

Many of the vehicles that are abandoned from importing are not available as brand new so there the question remains, what used luxury cars have a better second hand market in comparison to their rivals.

"A lux car is a car that is modern and beautiful in design and includes up to dated various options. They usually are hand built and also limited in production” Said Ghasem Mollazade, a showroom owner to Khodrocar reporter. Insisting on the price tag as one important characteristic of a lux car, he went on: "luxury cars from well-known brands and those that had made great reputation when brand new, are among those best-selling luxury rides when they become second handed.”

"Exterior design and practical options along with the segment and body structure of the car like SUVs, coupes and convertibles are of great importance to a customer when choosing a used luxury car. Also it is necessary to mention that those cars that are more common in the society insures the customer about their after sales services and durability.” added Mollazade.

"Tax rates put upon imported cars by the government are so high that causes a regular off-shore made vehicle turn into an expensive luxury-priced car as it reaches the domestic shores. Although providing good after sale services and the plenty of the needed parts for the used car is of extreme importance and can elevated the used luxury cars second hand market if improved, but once a customer chosen the ride it means that he or she has actually accepted all the side effects and negative point of views of owning such car.” said Ghasem Mollazade

What actually was gained from the field study of the market and the interviews is that cars from well-known brands with good reputation as a brand new and out of three segments including SUV, coupe and convertible are among the best-selling luxury used cars in Iran second hand luxury car market.
