Aston Martin recently introduced a DB11 with a Mercedes-AMG sourced twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine and it appears the company is also eyeing the brand's new six-cylinder engine.
At the RM Sotheby’s Monterey sale, alongside a $15-million McLaren F1, this stunning Aston Martin DBR1 went home for a record price. When the gavel dropped, the classic Aston sold for a whopping $22.5 million, making it the single most expensive British automobile ever sold at auction.
Aston Martin says that the company could be interested in supporting a future F1 engine programme, but only if the rules for 2021 and beyond are framed in a way that suits the sportscar manufacturer.
