Kerman Motor Plans to Expand Imported Vehicle Lineup in 2025

Kerman Motor is accelerating efforts to diversify its product portfolio beyond domestic sedans and pickups, with a structured plan to significantly increase the supply of imported vehicles before the end of the current year.

A few weeks ago, Iran’s First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref officially issued the 2025 import regulation for passenger cars. The directive introduced substantial tariff reductions for gasoline-powered vehicles with engines under 2.0 liters. However, on August 3, 2025, the Administrative Justice Court suspended the new tariffs, creating uncertainty for importers.

Despite these challenges, some companies are pressing ahead with expansion strategies. Among them is KTL, the international trade and logistics arm of Kerman Motor, which is actively preparing to broaden its range of imported models this year.

Commitment to Market Expansion

According to the revised regulation, tariffs on certain vehicle categories have increased by up to 100 percent—an adjustment that some industry observers believe could hinder the entry of affordable models. Nevertheless, Kerman Motor has stated that it faces no obstacles with the approved tariffs set by the Economic Coordination Council and has aligned its plans accordingly.

In addition to domestic production and assembly of foreign brands, the company is prioritizing greater variety in imported offerings. Industry analysts expect Kerman Motor to capture a larger share of Iran’s imported car market in 2025, introducing several new models to meet rising consumer demand.

Upcoming Launches: Hyundai Elantra 2025

Following the market debut of the Hyundai Kona, Kerman Motor is set to launch the all-new Hyundai Elantra 2025 through KTL in the coming weeks. The company also intends to add several other imported models before year-end, reinforcing its competitive position against other importers.

The 2025 Elantra distinguishes itself from the 2023 version with a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine delivering 115 hp and 144 Nm of torque, paired with a CVT transmission driving the front wheels. The exterior receives subtle updates, including sharper headlights and a sportier overall stance.

Enhanced Features

One of the key criticisms of previous Elantra versions in Iran was limited equipment. Addressing this, the 2025 Elantra offered by Kerman Motor comes with a comprehensive package, including adaptive cruise control, six airbags, traction and stability control, hill-start assist, driver drowsiness alert, brake assist, multiple driving radars, sunroof, light sensor, heated front seats, and dual 10.25-inch displays for infotainment and instrument cluster.
