Uncertainty about importing second-hand cars/ Members of the parliament seeking for executing a controversial resolution

The opposition to the ongoing story of the import of used cars has entered a new phase these days, and this time, the activists of the automobile industry openly declare their opposition to this decision of the Ministry of Industry and emphasize the occurrence of many problems after the implementation of this resolution.
Khodrocar - During the review of the liberalization of car imports in the Ministry of Industry, the officials of this ministry, in response to the plan of the Ministry of Industry regarding the import of used cars, emphasized that "currently, we do not have a plan to import used cars, and now the import of cars with zero kilometers is on the agenda, and if in the months The future of the car market with domestically produced cars, whose production circulation is increasing, and also imports are not resolved, then a decision will be made about used cars.

Now, despite the increase in production circulation and the implementation of initial import measures, the market has not yet reached the equilibrium. The Ministry of Industry is trying to stabilize the market by approving the approval of the import of used cars with 5 years of operation, which is foreseen in the current year's budget. restore balance and respond to the market's thirst. Therefore, Seyed Reza Fatemi Amin, the Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade, announced that the two-urgent bill for the import of used cars was approved by the government board and will be sent to the parliament quickly.

At the same time as this news was announced, a wave of opposition to this decision started. Auto industry activists believe that there is no need to implement this resolution and perhaps this decision can be considered as the last priority for the management of the car market, because the history of these used cars and their maintenance conditions, as well as how they pass the mandatory standards, are not known.

Experts in this field emphasize that the useful life of these cars has ended and the so-called cars are worn out, so buying original spare parts will be very expensive for the consumers who buy these second-hand cars, so the buyers of these cars due to their lack of purchasing power Original parts go to fake and low-quality parts with different brands, which creates a new problem, and with this policy, the spare parts market of these cars is in the hands of foreign parts suppliers for many years.

At the same time, some experts consider the introduction of second-hand car imports in the current sensitive situation as a move in the direction of the ill-wishers of the country and emphasize that an increase in imports in this situation means an increase in the need for foreign exchange, more pressure on the government, and as a result, an increase in the exchange rate. Therefore, the import of these cars may reduce the fever of the market, but it will cause a major blow to the economy.

According to these experts, today and being in the middle of an economic war, raising issues such as the import of second-hand cars has no result except consumerism and does not solve the problem. There is no selling these cars, but this action will lead to more confusion of the market due to the abuse of profit seekers.

But despite these oppositions, the analysis of the parliament members' comments indicates that they agree with this not very economic decision. One of the members of the Industries and Mines Commission of the Islamic Council, referring to the astronomical prices of imported cars in the market, positively evaluated this resolution and emphasized that with this decision, the market will calm down to a great extent.

These comments are at a time when in the working days of the beginning of this year, the news of the removal of the decree for the import of used cars from the budget bill 1402 caused a lot of noise, but despite this, Seyyed Reza Fatemi Amin, the Minister of Industry, approved this decree with two terms of urgency. to fulfill at least one of his promises to liberalize imports. Now, we have to see, despite the opposition of auto industry activists and experts to this decision, will the members of parliament force the implementation of this resolution or not?
